Isabela City, Basilan — The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) successfully conducted an emergency medical transport operation for a 30-year-old pregnant patient from Panunsulan, Isabela City, Basilan following a referral from ISACOM for advanced medical management and specialized maternal care.

According to medical reports, the patient was experiencing elevated blood pressure and persistent headaches. Initial assessment revealed that she was a G1P0 patient at approximately 30–31 weeks of gestation and had been diagnosed with Pre-eclampsia with Severe Features, a serious pregnancy-related condition that requires immediate medical intervention and close monitoring to prevent complications for both mother and child.

Upon assessment by the PDRRMO EMS team, the patient was conscious and responsive with a Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score of 15/15. Vital signs recorded during the evaluation included a blood pressure of 140/80 mmHg, pulse rate of 86 beats per minute, respiratory rate of 19 breaths per minute, oxygen saturation of 96% with oxygen support via nasal cannula at 1–2 liters per minute, and a body temperature of 37.0°C.

Prior to transport, the patient received the necessary medical management, including intravenous fluid therapy, magnesium sulfate infusion for seizure prevention, antihypertensive medications, calcium supplementation, and other supportive treatments aimed at stabilizing her condition during transfer.

The EMS team ensured the safe and immediate transport of the patient to a higher-level medical facility where specialized obstetric and maternal healthcare services were available. Continuous monitoring and medical support were provided throughout the transport process to ensure the patient's safety and well-being.
