MALUSO, BASILAN — Demonstrating its commitment to delivering timely emergency medical response, the Basilan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to three emergency cases in the Municipality of Maluso last Friday.

The first incident involved a 34-year-old female resident of Shipyard, Tabuk, Maluso who complained of dizziness and a severe headache. Upon arrival, the EMS team immediately conducted a medical assessment and provided initial treatment at the scene.

The responders recommended immediate transport to a hospital for further evaluation and management. However, the patient and her family declined hospital transport. Respecting the family's decision, the EMS team safely transported the patient back to her residence and advised the family to seek immediate medical attention should her condition worsen or if the symptoms persist.

While traveling to Maluso, the EMS team also responded to a vehicular accident in Barangay Matarling involving two individuals.

A 25-year-old male sustained a wound on his right finger and a laceration near his left eye, while a 22-year-old female suffered multiple abrasions on her hands and shoulder.

Emergency responders promptly administered first aid and appropriate wound care at the scene before safely transporting both patients to the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Maluso for further medical evaluation and treatment.

Following the EMS interventions, all three patients were reported to be in stable condition.

The Basilan PDRRMO continues to maintain a 24/7 emergency response capability, ensuring that residents across the province receive immediate medical assistance whenever emergencies arise.
